Roadway project to disrupt traffic in central CT town for several weeks. What to know.

A road project on a busy thoroughfare is expected to cause a disruption to traffic for the next four weeks or so.

Roadway reclamation on LaSalle Road in West Hartford Center began on Monday and is expected to continue through Oct. 10, according to West Hartford town officials.

The work is part of the West Hartford Center Infrastructure Project and was expected to begin on the east side of the road, with crews completing one side of the road before moving to the other, officials said. Each side is expected to take about two weeks to finish.

Town officials said the road will remain open to one-way traffic during the project. As crews work on the east side of the street, LaSalle Road will be open to southbound traffic only, officials said. The road will be open to northbound traffic only when crews work on the west side of the street.

A CT town is set to plant 50+ new trees. Why a new technology being used is called ‘a game-changer.’

Officials said signage, traffic control and pedestrian barriers will be in place as the work ensues, and nearby businesses will be open and accessible, with driveway access through temporary gravel ramps. All crosswalks will also be open.

According to town officials, free on-street parking will be available on LaSalle Road and Farmington Avenue as the project ensues. Alternative parking options can also be found using the WeHa Parking Finder.
