West New York police officers involved in the 2022 fatal shooting of a man who fired at them first have been cleared of wrongdoing by a state grand jury.
The state Attorney General’s Office announced Tuesday that no criminal charges will be filed in the death of Kevin Colindres, 32, on June 3, 2022. Police responded at 6:30 p.m. to a report of domestic violence when Colindres yelled at them to get back and then fired through a door, striking one of the officers.
