Hudson County communities share nearly $9 million in state aid for road improvements

Hudson County communities from North Bergen to East Newark have been awarded a total of nearly $9 million is state aid for road, bridge, safety, and quality-of-life improvements, Gov. Phil Murphy and New Jersey Department of Transportation Commissioner Diane Gutierrez-Scaccetti announced.

Jersey City was awarded $1.9 million for the second phase of a its Christopher Columbus Drive improvement project, a small portion of the $161.25 million in Fiscal Year 2024 Municipal Aid grants across the state. Some 543 cities and towns across the state were awarded grants. A total of $384 million had been requested.
