One person was detained as police were investigating an unknown incident in East Haven on Tuesday.

The incident reportedly took place in area around the 500 block on Main Street, according to  Capt. Joseph M. Murgo of the East Haven Police Department.

The scene was contained and an individual was detained, according to Murgo.

Murgo said there was no threat to public safety.
