U.S. Rep. John Larson should decline to seek another term in office.
It has nothing to do with his politics. It is because of the betrayal by his own party. Inexplicably, they have fostered challengers to his office. The Democrats do not deserve someone of Larson’s calibre.
We have had the good fortune of meeting him from time to time in downtown restaurants. Our personal politics have not always aligned with his views. Yet he has always been approachable, down-to-earth and cordial. If only the former party boss, John Bailey were still around.

He never would have allowed this disappointing, public spectacle to take place. The people vying for the congressman’s job are said to have “sensed blood in the water.”
It is ironic and appropriate that this political feeding frenzy is occurring now. It happens to coincide with the 50th anniversary of the movie Jaws.
