Festival of Trees returns for 39th year at Orlando Museum of Art

While pumpkin spice products and Halloween candy just hit the shelves, a popular Central Florida holiday tradition is planning its return for this November with decked halls and trees that are merry and bright.

The Orlando Museum of Art will transform into a winter wonderland this fall when the Festival of Trees returns for its 39th year with the theme, “A Season of Celebration.” Dozens of designer-inspired trees will be on display and spread throughout the museum’s galleries Nov. 15-23.

Presented by the Council of 101, an organization of nearly 300 women volunteers, the annual event raises money to support the Orlando Museum of Art.

“We are filled with pride and gratitude as we celebrate 60 years of Council of 101 service, 39 years of Festival of Trees, and look forward to the next century of the Orlando Museum of Art’s legacy,” said Donna Neck, the Council of 101 president, in a news release.

In previous years, trees have been trimmed with Taylor Swift decor, adorned with many nutcrackers or decorated with UCF colors.

In addition to the festive firs, visitors can also browse wreaths, extravagant gingerbread creations, holiday vignettes and festive tabletop displays. Special events include Festival of Trees’ opening night party, breakfast with Santa, a Reindeer Romp children’s party, an ugly sweater party, a holiday home tour and a cocktail party.

To date, the Council of 101 has contributed more than $15 million toward art, exhibits, facility renovation and museum operating expenses.
