The driver to Savannah needs to realize two things before he goes off on an I-95 middle lane driver: One, the speed limit is a maximum, not a minimum. And, two: a case can be made that driving the middle lane at just below the speed limit is the most hassle-free way to drive the interstate. One does not have the continuous interactions with other drivers that you get in the fast lane (where many people behind you want to speed) and the slow lane (where people are slowing to exit and/or entering the traffic pattern). At just under the speed limit, the middle driver also minimizes the need to brake from coming up on drivers in front.
I’m ticked off that the network that airs primarily replays of NFL games, displays a banner at the bottom of the screen indicating who won the game on the next day’s replay. Talk about ruining the anticipation!
I am ticked off at the, mostly female, sideline reporters who routinely ask the football coach the same inane questions “How are you going to keep your defense going” or, “How are you going to keep your offense going?” The only reply from the coach should be: “We need to score more points than they do”
There’s a special place in hell for the losers who ran up a $38 lunch bill Friday at the wonderful little Vic’s in Sebastian…and walked out without paying. Their server had to pay the bill out of her own pocket, so she lost money working that shift.
The flip side
I would like to commend a great customer service rep at the little Publix on U.S. 17-92 in Maitland. Maryann is always smiling, always greeting people and offering to help. I see her behind the desk, helping bag groceries, taking groceries to people’s cars and even in the parking lot gathering shopping carts. Best part is she does everything with a smile! Thanks Maryann for being you!
