INDIANAPOLIS — Miami Dolphins right guard James Daniels is active and available to start for the team in the opener against the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday.
Daniels, who entered questionable with an ankle injury, was not among inactives announced by the team 90 minutes prior to the 1 p.m. kickoff at Lucas Oil Stadium.
Daniels, who rehabbed a torn Achilles on his right leg in the offseason, popped up on the Dolphins’ injury report Thursday for an ankle injury on the left leg. He left Thursday’s practice early as a limited participant and did not take part in Friday drills.
With Daniels good to go, Miami will have its full projected starting offensive line available for Sunday’s opener in Indianapolis. From left to right, the team has Patrick Paul, rookie Jonah Savaiinaea, Aaron Brewer, Daniels and Austin Jackson starting.
Veteran offensive tackle Kendall Lamm was the Dolphins’ lone offensive lineman listed among inactives pregame. Miami has Larry Borom, Kion Smith and Daniel Brunskill as available reserves.
Aside from Daniels, the other Dolphins player who was questionable Sunday was wide receiver Dee Eskridge. He cleared concussion protocol ahead of the opener and is available.
Other Dolphins inactives were tight end Darren Waller (hip), running back Jaylen Wright (knee), cornerback Ethan Bonner (hamstring), wide receiver Tahj Washington, defensive tackle Zeek Biggers and quarterback Quinn Ewers. Washington and Biggers were healthy scratches, and Ewers is available as an emergency third quarterback.
