NORFOLK — Detectives are investigating a 60-year-old man’s undetermined death which authorities said was connected to an ongoing hit-and-run investigation.
Officers arrived at the Haven Creek Boat Ramp Friday night responding to a water rescue, according to police. The boat ramp is located between Colonial Avenue and Granby Street. Police found a vehicle in the water and an unconscious man inside the car, who was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Norfolk Police Department said the man’s cause of death was under investigation.
Benjamin Sell, 28, of South Carolina has been charged with a hit-and-run resulting in injury and is currently being held in Norfolk City Jail without bond.
