Science center, Barnie’s team up for flavored coffees

Orlando Science Center has partnered with Barnie’s Coffee & Tea Co. to develop three flavored coffees that are themed to elements of the Loch Haven Park museum.

Visitors can now purchase package for brews named Tamarin Treat, Fossil Fuel and Love Bridge Brew.  The 12-ounce bags are sold for $19.99 at the Coffee Spot, which operates on the second level of the science center. The coffee is sources from Fair Trade Peru.

“Our shared dedication to sustainability and conservation are big reasons why we partnered with Barnie’s Coffee,” JoAnn Newman, president and CEO of Orlando Science Center, said in a news release.

“We recognize the importance of the sustainability aspect with Orlando Science Center, and the efforts of offering Fair Trade Peru Coffee to our consumers,” said Ron Pecora, CEO of Orlando-based Barnie’s. “It’s not only really good coffee, but the positive impact on the coffee farmers, and our producers, is what’s important to us as a brand.”

The Tamarin Treat Coffee features banana, brown sugar and vanilla flavors. The Love Bridge Brew, a reference to the pedestrian walkway that connects the science center with its parking garage, includes carrot cake flavors. Fossil Fuel highlights include custard, maple and pecans.  The science rotates which flavor is available daily. They can also be purchased online at barniescoffee.com.
