The Phantoms (2-0) went ahead 21-0 in the first quarter at Darling Stadium to beat their nearby Peninsula District rivals (2-2), extending their winning streak to 51. One more win, and they’ll share VHSL record that previous Phoebus teams and Riverheads of Staunton set.

#7 Lafayette 63, Bruton 0

The Rams (4-0) assured they will enter next week’s Bay Rivers District showdown at Poquoson unbeaten after rolling to a 56-point halftime lead at Wanner Stadium and cruising from there.

Quarterback Baum Hogge threw for a touchdown to Jael Love and scored again by recovering a punt he blocked. Bryce Johnson and Breon Stokes ran for two touchdowns apiece, while Isaiah Gray and Gavin Scott ran for one touchdown each.

#10 Hampton 47, Woodside 7

Marcus Chapman threw three touchdown passes and ran for two TDs as the Crabbers (3-0) dominated the Wolverines (1-2) at Todd Stadium. Hampton got the running clock in operation when ZyMire Lofton threw a 12-yard TD pass to Andre McGlone Jr. with six seconds to go in the third quarter.

In the first quarter, Chapman threw a 13-yard TD pass to Davion Perry and ran for a 6-yard touchdown, putting the Crabbers ahead 14-0 with 4:05 to go. Chapman was 5 for 5 for 60 yards to that stage.

Woodside’s Terris Bowen responded with a 36-yard touchdown run with 10:36 left in the second quarter, completing a five-play, 69-yard drive, but the Wolverines never scored again.

Chapman’s 20-yard TD pass to Abraham Taft III and Casey Lassiter’s 56-yard touchdown run with 6:06 to go in the second quarter put the Crabbers ahead 28-7 at the half.

Perry’s 17-yard catch and Chapman’s 1-yard TD run, which came after Woodside muffed a punt, made it 40-7 with 4:44 to go in the third quarter.

Bay Rivers District

New Kent 20, Tabb 10

The Tigers (2-2) led in the fourth quarter before the Trojans (2-2) went ahead with 7:13 remaining on a 49-yard fumble-recovery return. New Kent went on a clock-eating drive and clinched the triumph with a 5-yard touchdown run with seven seconds on the clock.

Audrey Lukevics and Verity Huddleston scored for the Bulldogs. Allie Tyszko added an assist.

#5 Cox 4, #8 First Colonial 2

Atalee Booth, Bella Terry, Lilly Schrott and Rose Holland scored for the Falcons in the neighborhood rivalry of traditional powers. Bella Glenn had two assists and Ava Amuial one.

Kempsville 4, Bayside 0

Lily Scott had a goal and two assists for the Chiefs. Emily Vick, Amy Bluhm and Morgan Fentner also scored, and Olivia Kelley had an assist. Goalkeepers Ava Diaz, Adrian Carter and Olivia Wintrode combined for a shutout.

Princess Anne 11, Green Run 0

Kelsie Manugo, Vivian Myers and Molly McCoy scored twice apiece, and Reese Klute had five assists. The other goals for the Cavaliers (2-3) came from Elin Cooper, Julia Phillips, Madison Broberg, Sonya Ortiz and Amber Musselman. Broberg and Manugo had assists.

Kempsville’s Wyatt Lewald fired a 79 for the medal at Virginia Beach National.

The SunDevils’ Patrick Prunty won the medal with a 7-over-par 79 at Stumpy Lake Golf Course.

Southeastern District

Results from a regular-season match at par-72 Bide-A-Wee Golf Course in Portsmouth.

Team standings: 1. Grassfield 318; 2. Hickory 321; 3. Lakeland 332; 4. Nansemond River 337; 5. Western Branch 341; 6. Great Bridge 345; 7. Deep Creek 347. Oscar Smith, Indian River and King’s Fork did not qualify for a team score.

Great Bridge’s Jackson Fannon and Hickory’s Owen Smyth shared the medal with 72s, and Deep Creek’s Demi Mahiai was third at 74.

Jaden Birch scored a hat trick, and Zach Busch had two assists for the Navigators in Newport News. Luke Sablan scored HRA’s first goal, assisted by Colten Fulcher, and Cameron Hall netted the Navigators’ last goal. NSA’s only goal came in the second half.

Maris Milosevic netted both goals for the Ambassadors.

Norfolk Academy’s boys won a 12-team meet and StoneBridge’s girls won a seven-team meet in the Greenbrier Christian Invitational at Bells Mill Park. Norfolk Academy sophomore Brogan Brown (17:14.6) and StoneBridge senior Eve Frost (19:36.7) took individual 5-kilometer titles.
