The St. Cloud Police Department is searching for the driver of a white car involved in a hit-and-run that left one person dead on 13th Street early Saturday.
Around 4 a.m. on Saturday a man was killed after two different cars ran into him while he was trying to cross 13th Street near Tennessee Avenue in St. Cloud, the police department said.
The first car that hit the man is believed to be a white newer model Chevrolet Trax that was travelling west on 13th Street toward Kissimmee but fled the scene, the department said.
Police are asking for the public’s help to identify the driver of the car and say the vehicle likely has noticeable front-end damage.
The driver of the second car that ran over the man remained at the scene on Saturday and fully cooperated in the investigation, the department said.
The pedestrian was taken to a nearby hospital where he died a few hours after the incident, according to a correspondence from St. Cloud Police Department spokesman Andrew Sullivan.
The St. Cloud Police Department is asking anyone with information about the vehicle and its driver, including any dashcam video or security-camera footage in the area during the early hours of Saturday, to please report it.
