I-4 eastbound shut down after crash near SR 528

A multicar crash has shut down all eastbound lanes of Interstate 4 approaching State Road 528, according to FL511.

The crash before mile marker 72 has all lanes blocked as of 4:13 p.m.

Images on FL511 show emergency vehicles on scene and backed-up traffic exiting from the interstate on a detour.

Traffic was backed up more than 3 miles to before the Apopka-Vineland Road (C.R. 535) exit near Downtown Disney.

At least two cars with damage were seen as well as a panel truck tipped on its side in the median area, which is a construction site.

“Motorists are advised to use caution in the area and seek alternate routes,” reads an alert from FL511.

Earlier in the afternoon, the southbound exit ramp onto S.R. 528 from Florida’s Turnpike had been shut down because of an overturned semi-truck, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

That closure was cleared around 4 p.m.
