Readers speak: Invalidating health care treatment of women must end

I read article on a maternal health care program has gaps for some women and felt inspired as doula care, in which the woman is supported during her pregnancy and birth by an individual trained in pregnancy and and birth, was described.

As I read on to the racism, language barriers and invalidating treatment they faced, I shook my head.

As a white woman I have experienced this over the course of my life when dealing with the health care system, particularly the last two years while I have been dealing with a health issue.

Unfortunately, it is magnified for these ladies.  When will this treatment of women stop?
