Hartford shooting under investigation after man sought treatment for gunshot wound

Police are investigating after a man took himself to a hospital in Hartford in the early morning hours Friday with a gunshot wound.

Officers were contacted by staff at Hartford Hospital at 2:18 a.m. about a walk-in gunshot victim and responded to the hospital, according to Lt. Aaron Boisvert of the Hartford Police Department.

The victim was in his 20s and was suffering from a gunshot injury not considered life-threatening, Boisvert said.

Investigators are still working to learn where the shooting happened.

The incident remains under investigation by the Hartford Police Department’s Major Crimes and Crime Scene Divisions. Anyone with information has been asked to call the Hartford Police Department Tip Line at 860-722-TIPS (8477).
