Registration starts Tuesday for Santa’s Workshop, hotline
Naperville Park District residents can register for Santa’s Naperville Workshop and Santa’s Hotline starting at noon Tuesday, Oct. 21.
Nonresidents can register starting at noon Thursday, Oct. 23.
Santa’s Naperville Workshop allows families to take a photo and visit with Santa from Dec. 1 to 21 at the Paddleboat Quarry Rentals, 441 Aurora Ave.
Advanced reservations are required, and no walk-ups will be accommodated, a park district news release said. Tickets are $10 per family for residents and $15 per family for nonresidents.
The workshop will offer special themed nights, including Pet Night on Dec. 2, Special Needs Nights on Dec. 3-4 and Military and First Responders Night on Dec. 10.
Time slots can be reserved at www.napervilleparks.org/santasworkshop.
Registration will start later this month for families who would like to receive a free personal phone call from Santa or Mrs. Claus. The calls will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. Dec. 10. Limited spots are available.

Maintenance work starts Monday on Central Parking Facility
Maintenance work is expected to begin Monday on Naperville’s Central Parking Facility, 75 E. Chicago Ave.
Crews will work from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. weekdays. The level that is under construction will be closed while the work is being done, a city news release said.
All work should to be completed and parking spots reopened by the end of October, the release said.
The work includes minor concrete repairs on the first and second levels. The top level will be recoated and striped to ensure the water membrane remains intact, the release said.
Work will start Monday and last about a week on the second level. Once complete, crews will move to the top level. The last stage of the work will be done on the first level at the end of the month, from about Oct. 27 to 31.
Work is weather dependent and the timeline could change based on weather delays, the release said.
The East Chicago Avenue and East Jefferson Avenue entrances will remain mostly open, officials said. There may be times during the project that one of the entrances will be closed for maintenance. Parking closures will be marked with signs and barricades.

Rotary Club seeking winter coat donations for homeless vets
Several locations around Naperville will be accepting men’s winter coats to benefit homeless veterans through a program sponsored by the Rotary Club of Naperville.
Coats that are either new or in good condition can be dropped off through Oct. 29 at all three branches of the Naperville Public Library, Casey’s Foods, Naperville School District 203 administration offices, Friedrich Jones Funeral Home, Riverwalk Adult Day Services, Salon Star/Ashton Hair and the VFW Judd Kendall Post 3873.
Other locations include Bethany Lutheran Church, St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church, St. Raphael Catholic Church and the St. Patrick’s Residence.
In Aurora, donations may be dropped off at the Stonebridge Country Club.
