Two teens hospitalized following shooting incident in Hartford

Police are investigating a shooting incident in Hartford on Tuesday night involving teens, police said.

Officers were dispatched to the area of 19 Ward Street around 8:24 p.m. on Tuesday on a ShotSpotter notification, according to Lt. Aaron Boisvert of the Hartford Police Department.

Arriving officers located evidence of gunfire, Boisvert said. While at the scene, officers learned that a 17-year-old male arrived at Connecticut Children’s Medical Center for treatment of a non-life-threatening gunshot wound.

According to Boisvert, Hartford Hospital reported that a second victim, identified as an 18-year-old female, was privately transported for treatment of an injury “that was determined not to have been sustained by gunfire.” She was listed in stable condition, Boisvert said.

Hartford Police Department’s Major Crimes and Crime Scene Divisions are conducting the ongoing investigation.
