Ticked Off! @rate increases

I am so upset, I could spit! I reviewed our upcoming medical insurance policy and every line of service will go up $30 to $50 in co-payments. This is after the CEO got an $11 million bonus.  Then, my homeowners insurance will increase $1,000 with higher deductibles and my car insurance is going up $25 a month with minimum coverage. Yet, my Social Security check is the same. I am too old to get a job, even as a greeter. Why can’t government officials who are supposed to represent us help us fight these greedy companies? I am at a loss.
In reading on the Tampa Bay Rays website, the scenarios that are being spoken about seem to be the same old rhetoric as in past off seasons. The new Rays owners want to win championships in the short term. To do so, the pocketbooks will need to open up some. The team has some proven folks, but please get off the train of bringing up from within. It did not work this year and did not work last year. If the new Rays owners wish to win quickly, proven free agents will need to come in. To do that, the owners need to get a proven president of baseball operations. If they continue with who is in charge now and listen to his way of a winning team, the Rays will continue to be the same old Rays, and no one will show up and attendance will continue at the lows they have been.

The flip side

I’d like to send my thanks to Aldi and Winn-Dixie for not allowing guns in their stores. Publix’s high prices were turning me off but allowing guns convinced me to go elsewhere. Shopped yesterday at Winn-Dixie and was pleasantly surprised.
Thanks to the Costco pharmacy for making getting my flu and COVID vaccines almost painless.
