A man was killed when he was ejected from a vehicle during a rollover crash in Coventry on Sunday.
Axel Antonio Santos-Reyes, 38, of Hartford was driving a 2010 Toyota Scion west on Route 6 was less than a mile away from the intersection with Route 66 when he allegedly tried negotiating a left curve in the road at a “high rate of speed” just before 11:40 p.m., according to Connecticut State Police.
Santos-Reyes lost control of the vehicle causing the Toyota to slide off the right shoulder of the road where it struck a drainage culvert and then a rock ledge, state police said. The vehicle then rolled over several times, ejecting Santos-Reyes before it settled onto its roof, according to state police.
Santos-Reyes was pronounced dead at the scene, according to state police.
