A Wallingford man has been accused of possessing child sexual abuse materials after police allege he uploaded multiple illegal images to his Verizon Wireless account.
Roy C. Edwards, 48, turned himself in on Oct. 13 in connection with a warrant charging him with one count of first-degree possession of child pornography, according to Lt. Stephen S. Jaques, Jr. of the Wallingford Police Department.
Jaques said the investigation began in December 2024, when police received a complaint from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. At the time, Jaques alleges, Edwards had uploaded multiple images containing child sexual abuse material to his Verizon Wireless account.
The police department’s Internet Crimes Against Children Task and the FBI Task Force investigated for months, according to Jaques. Investigators carried out a search warrant at Edwards’ home and seized electronic devices, Jaques said.
Authorities later allegedly found multiple videos and images containing child sexual abuse on the devices, according to Jaques.
Edwards was arrested after police obtained a warrant. He is free on a $75,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in Meriden Superior Court on Oct. 30.
