A 74-year-old man is in critical condition after he was hit by a car during a hit-and-run collision in Waterbury late Wednesday, police said.
The man was found lying in the road suffering from life-threatening injuries when officers responded to the area of 835 Wolcott St. at 10:19 p.m., according to Sgt. Joseph Morais of the Waterbury Police Department.
The initial report only indicated someone was down in the road, but Morais said police found that the man was a pedestrian who was the victim of a hit-and-run. He was taken to a hospital and listed in critical condition, according to Morais.
Morais said officers at the scene could not find the driver who was involved.
