Age: 28
Job: Associate director of marketing, Nauticus
At work: I lead the marketing strategy for Nauticus. We use a multichannel approach to share our story with the public, from showcasing our day-to-day operations to promoting special events. My goal is to connect our community with all that Nauticus has to offer.
Home and family: I live in Virginia Beach with my husband, Narayan, and our 1-year-old puppy, Moore.
Volunteer activities: I serve as vice president of administration for the American Marketing Association Hampton Roads. I’m passionate about fostering professional growth of marketers through education and networking. I also volunteer in A-Kids at Ascent Church, investing in the next generation.
Motivating factor: People are my greatest motivation, whether it’s ensuring visitors have a memorable experience at Nauticus, creating meaningful partnerships or simply leaving others feeling encouraged and valued after an interaction.
Advice to young people: Put yourself out there and always follow through. Opportunities often come to those who are willing to work the hardest. I may not always get everything perfect, but I will always finish strong and give my best effort.
Professional goal in five years: To continue playing a part in elevating Hampton Roads as a vibrant, one-of-a-kind region.
The one thing I’d change about Hampton Roads: I’d love to see more collaborative regional initiatives. Hampton Roads has so much to offer, and by presenting it with a unified voice, we could elevate our visibility and strengthen our impact as a region.
Region’s biggest asset: Nauticus — of course! Between the historic Battleship Wisconsin, the new Maritime Discovery Center, our sailing center and a thriving cruise port, Nauticus truly reflects the spirit and potential of this beautiful maritime region. And yes, I’m paid to say this, but I also believe it.
Downtime: I love working out, spending time with friends and family, going to the beach and exploring Hampton Roads’ incredible restaurants.
What really gets under my skin: When people say there’s nothing to do in Hampton Roads. There are exceptional dining and cultural institutions, events and natural beauty. Our region is full of opportunities to explore and enjoy.
