Another bomb threat prompts Allen High School evacuation

Allen High School was evacuated Monday morning after another bomb threat was made there, according to officials.

City police responded to the school about 11:10 a.m. for a report of a bomb threat, the department said in a news release. Police searched the school and did not find bombs or explosive materials.

The school was evacuated just before 11 a.m., and students returned to classes by about 12:30 p.m., according to district spokesperson Melissa Reese. A message was sent to families letting them know the school was evacuated.

Authorities have not identified who made the threat. The district is working with Allentown police in its investigation.

Police said there is no danger to the community.

A number of bomb threats have been made at the district’s schools, including Allen, over the past few weeks. Two students, 14, were charged earlier this month with making a bomb threat that caused a lockdown at the school.

The school was dismissed early from a bomb threat late last month, too. Two bomb threats were also made at Trexler Middle School last month.
