James Madison University has declared its Nov. 22 home football game “the first-ever Marvel Super Hero Day,” and Dukes players will sport superhero themed helmets in the game against Washington State.
The helmets, unveiled in a release from the school Friday, will feature the traditional JMU block logo on one side. Players will chose one of five Marvel characters — Iron Man, Captain America, Hulk, Thor or Black Panther — for the other side.
JMU also will offer fans a chance to join the superhero fun with the first 15,000 receiving a voucher for a souvenir poster designed by Marvel Comics and featuring the Duke Dog alongside the superheroes.
Select fans also receive one of 2,000 co-branded hats during a game day giveaway. Fans are also encouraged to join in the fun and dress up as their favorite Marvel superhero.
