2025 Veterans Day events in Hampton Roads

Veterans Day is on Tuesday, Nov. 11.

Several events are happening throughout Hampton Roads to honor the nation’s military veterans.

Hampton

A Veterans Day Ceremony and Celebration featuring live music, food trucks, exhibits and more will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at Continental Park, 4 Fenwick Road in Fort Monroe.

The Veterans Day parade portion of the day has been canceled, but is planned to return next year. For more information, visit fortmonroe.org.

Newport News

The Virginia War Museum will host a Veterans Day ceremony led by American Legion Braxton-Perkins Post 25 from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. Tuesday.

Visitors can enjoy free admission during operating hours, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The museum is located at 9285 Warwick Boulevard.

Suffolk

Salute Our Veterans will feature an afternoon of horses, community, gratitude and fun from noon to 4 p.m. Sunday at two area farms: Liberty Lane Farm with Stars and Stripes Drill Team and Bridlewood Estates Equestrian Center with SunFire Equestrian.

The event is free, but some activities may have a small fee or donation request. For more information, call 757-514-4044.

Virginia Beach

The Hampton Roads Council of Veterans Organizations is hosting the annual Tidewater Veterans Day Parade and Ceremony on Tuesday.

The parade begins at 9 a.m. at 16th Street and Atlantic Avenue and concludes with the formal ceremony at the Tidewater Veterans Memorial, across from the Virginia Beach Convention Center at 1000 19th St. Veterans are honored at a luncheon that follows the ceremony. Tickets for the luncheon may be purchased from members of the HRCVO.

Hampton Roads businesses salute the military for Veterans Day

York County

The York County Historical Committee will host its annual Veterans Day ceremony at noon Tuesday in the Board Room of York Hall, 301 Main St.

This year’s theme, “Virginia’s Medal of Honor Recipients,” pays tribute to the extraordinary courage and sacrifice of Virginians who have received the nation’s highest military honor.
