Mia Wilson had 11 points and Jessica Dornak had 10 for the Captains, who were ranked 20th in the d3hoops.com preseason poll. Sarah Pritz had nine points and six rebounds.
CNU outscored Arcadia 29-22 in the second quarter to go ahead 47-40, then dominated the Knights 19-4 in the final period.
Hanna Rhoades sank six 3-pointers and scored 24 for the Knights (3-2).
Virginia Wesleyan 69, Regent 31: Brianna Long had 14 points and 16 rebounds as the Marlins (4-1) breezed past the Royals (0-6) at TowneBank Arena. Maesyn Blaylock had 12 points and seven rebounds, and Bre Robinson had 11 points and five assists for VWU.
Eva Giannini led Regent with 16 points.
Bryant & Stratton 60, Cape Fear Community College 55: The Bobcats, ranked 20th in National Junior College Athletic Association Division II, won to go to 7-0 overall and 4-0 in conference play.
Sian Lewin had 18 points, seven rebounds, seven assists, three blocks and two steals for BSC. Myla Parker had 16 points, eight rebounds and two steals, and Carissa Frederick had eight points and 10 rebounds.
Apprentice 58, Tidewater Community College 52: The Builders (3-2) beat the first-year Storm (1-4) at Portsmouth’s Churchland High behind Cornasia Lamberson’s 19 points.
Also for Apprentice, Dajanelle Linton-Robinson had 12 points and 10 rebounds, while Joy Wright put up 11 points.
For TCC, Reanna Keaton had 11 points and five steals, and Madeline Fisher had 10 points and six rebounds.
No. 7 Baylor 74, Davidson 72: Yuting Deng made a driving layup off the glass with 3 seconds left in overtime for the Bears in Lake Buena Vista, Florida.
Three starters had fouled out for the Bears (5-1) before their final possession. Deng’s inbound pass at the end of regulation resulted in a turnover, but her hard drive at the end of overtime won the game. She finished with 12 points.
Charlise Dunn, who had 33 points and 11 rebounds for Davidson (4-3), made three free throws with 12 seconds left to tie the game at 72. That came after the fifth foul by Taliah Scott, who led the Bears with 22 points but also had nine of their 22 turnovers.
Radford 80, Niagara 58: The Highlanders (4-3) beat the visiting Purple Eagles (0-5) behind Georgia Simonsen’s 15 points, 10 rebounds and three blocks and Joi Williams’ 14 points and five steals.
Former Catholic and William & Mary player Cate Carlson had six points and three assists for Radford.
