A pair of Old Dominion football standouts have apparently picked their next landing spots.
Quarterback Colton Joseph is headed to Wisconsin and running back Trequan Jones will transfer to Maryland, according to multiple media reports Saturday and Sunday.
Joseph, a 6-foot-2, 200-pound redshirt sophomore with two seasons of eligibility left, threw for 2,624 yards and rushed for 1,007 yards with 31 total touchdowns during the regular season. A native of Newport Beach, California, Joseph was the Sun Belt Conference Offensive Player of the Year. He elected to sit out the Monarchs’ StaffDNA Cure Bowl victory over South Florida.
ESPN’s Pete Thamel and On3Sports, citing unnamed sources, reported Joseph’s move to Wisconsin on Sunday.
Joseph confirmed he was headed to Wisconsin later Sunday on his X account.

Joseph will replace former ODU commit Billy Edwards Jr. at Wisconsin. Edwards, a Burke, Virginia, native who previously played at Maryland and redshirted for a season at Wake Forest, has announced he will transfer to North Carolina.
Jones, a senior with one year of eligibility, rushed for 792 yards and six touchdowns and averaged 7.5 yards per carry — second in the Football Bowl Subdivision. On3Sports reported his move to Maryland late Saturday night.
Joseph and Jones helped lead an ODU team that finished 10-3 for the program’s first 10-win season since 2016.
The transfer portal officially opened Friday. On3Sports’ transfer portal tracker lists 12 ODU players who intend to transfer.
