Barry Manilow will sing in Norfolk for the final time.
Manilow on Tuesday announced the addition of six shows to be a part of his 2026 touring schedule, including a March 2 performance at Old Dominion University’s Chartway Arena. Other last stops are in Charlotte, North Carolina; Baltimore, Maryland; Cincinnati, Ohio; Nashville, Tennessee; and Lexington, Kentucky.
General ticket sales start 10 a.m. Friday. Artist presale tickets will become available 10 a.m. Wednesday through 10 a.m. Thursday. Any other presales will run from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Thursday.
A star of the adult contemporary genre, Manilow has released over 40 albums, sold more than 85 million albums and had over 50 Top 40 singles over a five-decade career in music. He recently released a music video for his new single “Once Before I Go.”
During his final Hamptons Roads show, he’s expected to croon some of his most classic and well-known hit songs, such as: “Copacabana (At the Copa),” “Mandy,” “I Write the Songs,” “Looks Like We Made It” and “Can’t Smile Without You.”
And a local teacher will be brought on stage to receive the Manilow Music Teacher Award that celebrates music educators. Online voting for the winning teacher will begin Jan. 22, according to one of Manilow’s representatives. Voting will close Feb. 12, and a few days later, a final winner will be notified and announced.
The teacher will be awarded $5,000 for their personal use and $5,000 in “Manilow Bucks” for classroom instrument purchases.
In December, Manilow announced he’d been diagnosed with stage one lung cancer, detected early. He said on Instagram that doctors didn’t believe the cancer had spread beyond a spot on his lung, and he’d be undergoing surgery. The Tuesday news release said the operation went well and that “his medical team is optimistic.”
The illness prompted the rescheduling of January concerts.
