CT man accused of pointing gun at someone during road rage incident

A man faces charges for allegedly trying to harass someone and pulling out a firearm during a road rage incident in Ledyard in December.

Eric White, 33, of Groton was arrested Wednesday on charges of second-degree reckless endangerment, breach of peace, threatening with a firearm, brandishing a firearm, first-degree reckless endangerment, illegal possession of a weapon in a motor vehicle, carrying a pistol without a permit, following to intimidate or harass and operating a motor vehicle under suspension, according to the Ledyard Police Department.

Police said the charges stem from a road rage incident reported on Dec. 13. The victim told police a driver, who was later identified as White, was allegedly honking his horn as he followed her and trying to pass her in a no-pass zone, according to police.

Police allege White followed the woman to a parking area where he took out a firearm and pointed it at a second victim before speeding off.

Police said investigators tracked the vehicle as it headed south toward Groton and put out a “be on the lookout” alert to area police departments. White was found by Groton City Police and was arrested on separate charges after they allegedly found a gun in the vehicle, according to police.

Ledyard investigators obtained a warrant charging him in the road rage incident. He was held on a $50,000 bond and was expected to appear in New London Superior Court on Thursday.
