I am a follower of my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. I am compelled to remind people what the Bible has already told us about ourselves (from the New International Version, 2 Timothy 4:3-4, which is a contemporary translation).
“For the time will come when people will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather round them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear. They will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths.”
I am afraid we are at this point where the lies have stolen the hearts and minds of even people who supposedly love the Lord. The powers that be want us to not believe what we see with our own eyes.
Have we reached a point where the heartless and soulless among us have all the wheels of power?
We need to wake up, or continue to suffer the consequences. We cannot allow our great country to be manipulated by an administration of rogues who promote hatred, lies and cruelty. We were once a great and honorable nation. I am afraid that we are losing our way. God help us.

They play, we pay
The Sun Sentinel article on building on or near the barrier islands exposes some of the most ludicrous actions of modern man.
With the ability to identify moving and threatened sandbars, we keep spending billions to create playgrounds for the rich and famous. How this impacts the lives of regular Americans is irrelevant.
Public funds should be used only when the result benefits the nearby permanent land mass. We need insurers that are exclusive to customers who choose to live in these high-risk areas. That will keep the rest of us from footing the bill for their part-time seaside amusements.

How soon we forget
The Gestapo under Heinrich Himmler operated without civil restraints. It used “preventative arrest.” Its actions were not subject to judicial appeal.
Vice President Vance defended the ICE agent in the killing of a woman in Minneapolis by saying (incorrectly) that the officer had “absolute immunity.” He also said, “Congratulations, we’re going to work even harder to enforce the law.” Sound like the Gestapo in World War II?
The investigation is being taken over by the DOJ and FBI. State officials have been excluded. People in power have already passed judgment. President Trump, Vance and Kristi Noem all called it “domestic terrorism.”
Speak up. Silence is complicity. How soon we forget the past.

Stand up to the bully
The last time the emperor-wannabe governor interfered with Broward schools, the voters emphatically reelected his targets and overwhelmingly rejected his unqualified appointees.
With his new threat of a state takeover, he’s really attacking voters who renounced his previous effort.
The dedicated members of the Broward School Board should stand up to this arrogant bully with all available resources. If he succeeds, however, the voters’ voices will eventually be heard from again.
The best way to avoid future interference, though, is to elect a Democratic governor. It may be hard to remember, but DeSantis first won by a mere 0.4% over a flawed candidate (Andrew Gillum, 2018).

(Editor’s Note: Five of nine School Board seats are up for election in 2026. They are held by Lori Alhadeff, Maura McCarthy Bulman, Adam Cervera, Nora Rupert and Allen Zeman. Cervera is a DeSantis appointee. Zeman was elected countywide; the others represent separate geographic districts. Alhadeff will not seek reelection).
AI, now and then
Banning data centers in America in 2026 is akin to banning steel mills in America in 1800.
