A 19-year-old Connecticut man is facing child sexual abuse charges after allegedly meeting a minor through social media and soliciting explicit photo and videos.
Mikel Matias Reyes, 19, of Stratford was taken into custody on Thursday and charged with second-degree sexual assault, commercial sex abuse of a minor and risk of injury to a minor, according to the Norwalk Police Department.
On July 22, 2025, the Connecticut Department of Children and Families notified the Norwalk Police Department’s Special Victims Unit about a report of a juvenile who had been sexually assaulted, according to police.
During the investigation, detectives conducted interviews with victims and witnesses and reviewed evidence obtained through search warrants granted by Stamford Superior Court.
The investigation revealed that Reyes, who was 18 years old at the time, allegedly contacted juveniles through social media and solicited nude photographs and videos. The investigation also determined that Reyes allegedly enticed a juvenile to engage in sexual acts in
exchange for money.
Based on the investigation, police applied for and were granted an arrest warrant by Stamford Superior Court. Reyes was arrested and was being held on a $100,000 bond. He was scheduled to appear in court on Thursday.
