A Connecticut orchard and farm market said it has partnered with a well-known catering business to bring a line of from-scratch prepared foods to the store.
Bishop’s Orchards said it partnered with La Cuisine, “a name synonymous with scratch-made prepared meals and off-premise catering” to launch the new line of food.
Bishop’s called it “a new chapter for two of the shoreline’s most beloved local businesses.”
“This transition marks a natural next step in a years-long relationship rooted in shared values: quality, community, and a passion for creating food that is as nourishing as it is memorable,” the company said.
Bishop’s noted the two businesses have collaborated “behind the scenes for years,” but the “new venture brings La Cuisine’s culinary legacy fully under the Bishop’s umbrella — preserving its commitment to excellence while expanding its reach through the trusted Bishop’s platform.”
“Prepared foods should never feel like a compromise,” said Sarah Bishop DellaVentura, Co-CEO and sixth-generation family member at Bishop’s Orchards, in a statement. “By officially bringing La Cuisine into our fold, we’re able to offer our customers food that’s not only fresh and convenient, but deeply personal—meals we’re proud [and] excited to serve our own families.”
Carrie Healy, also co-cEO of Bishop’s Orchards, said, “today’s market is looking for wholesome, updated options that fit modern lifestyles without losing the joy of great food.”
“Partnering with La Cuisine allows us to expand our offerings in a way that honors tradition while meeting the growing demand for fresh, flavorful, and healthful prepared meals that are quick and convenient,” Healy said.

Bishop’s also noted that the new prepared foods line will have a rotating “selection of wholesome, chef-crafted meals made with seasonal ingredients—many sourced directly from Bishop’s own farm and other local partners.”
This will include hearty soups and fresh grain bowls to “elevated comfort classics and vibrant salads, each dish reflects La Cuisine’s culinary expertise and Bishop’s deep roots in Connecticut agriculture.”

Culinary Operations Manager Brendan Bloom said, also in a statement, “The return to Guilford marks a 40-year journey my parents started in 1982 on the Guilford Green. The mission was simple: provide outstanding food, made from wholesome ingredients, served with care and attention.”
Bloom said, “We are thrilled to partner with the Bishop family and use the bounty of farm-fresh ingredients mixed with our culinary expertise to once again offer outstanding food to our local community.”
Head Chef Uli Weil, said. “I’m passionate about creating dishes that bring local ingredients to local families.”
“There’s something deeply satisfying about taking produce grown just a few miles away and turning it into a meal that ends up on your neighbor’s table. It’s about connection — to the food, the land, and the people we serve.”
Bishop’s Farm Market is on Route 1 in Guilford. The business said that, to “celebrate” the launch, it would offer samples of prepared food in the coming weeks and months, where customers “will be invited to discover new favorites and experience the collaboration firsthand.”
Bishop’s said that later in the coming spring, it plans to begin to offer “expanded catering services, private events, and farm-to-table dinners – drawing on La Cuisine’s renowned expertise, we are excited about further connecting our community to the food and land they love.”
Bishop’s Orchards also has its fresh local produce, cider, pick-your-own orchards, Creamery, and year-round Farm Market.
