First Colonial’s boys and girls won the Beach District meet, at Princess Anne Rec Center, with both Kellam teams in second place. FC’s boys had 536 points to Kellam’s 446, and FC’s girls had 465 to Kellam’s 309.
FC’s Chase Wilkerson won all four of his races, ruling the 100-meter backstroke in 57.79 seconds and swimming on each of the Patriots’ three victorious relays.
First Colonial’s Parker Knapp and Tyler Newton each won an individual gold and a pair of relay golds.
Kempsville’s Coyle Moore won the 200 freestyle in 1:56.75 and the 100 free in 51.83.
On the girls’ side, Dara Duffy and Maris Marchione each won all four of their events, earning two individual golds apiece and swimming a leg on a pair of victorious relays. Teammates Maggie Wright and Norah Everhart gained three victories apiece.
Duffy prevailed in the 200- and 100-meter freestyles in 2:07.48 and 59.25, respectively, and Marchione won the 50 free in 27.83 and the 100 butterfly in 1:05.20.

Norfolk Academy’s boys and girls took team championships in the TCIS meet in Newport News. Catholic’s boys and Cape Henry’s girls placed second.
Norfolk Academy began the meet by taking gold in the 200-yard medley relay, thanks to a 1:42.90 by Carter McGhee, Oscar Eshenour, Wyatt Salter and Gray Bryant. The Bulldogs won the 200 free relay in 1:31.98 as Eshenour and Bryant joined Vaughan Cutchins and Simon Fass.
Cape Henry’s Adam Giersch and Charlie Taylor both won a pair of individual races. Giersch’s golds came in the 200 and 500 freestyles (1:42.20 and 4:33.98), and Taylor’s were for the 200 individual medley (1:54.11) and 100 backstroke (51.69).
In girls competition, the Dolphins’ Olivia Taylor won the 200-yard freestyle (1:53.48) and 100 breaststroke (1:04.09) and swam on the winning 200 medley relay (1:49.39) and 200 free relay (1:40.41). Teammate Piper Strach also was on those first-place relays, and she won the 50 and 100 freestyles in 24.78 and 53.40 seconds, respectively.
The Bulldogs used their excellent depth to take the team title.
Norfolk Academy’s Madeline Schulz, who won the 500 free in 5:14.80; Liza Cutchins, who led the 100 butterfly in 58.95; and Carson Gaddy, who won the 100 backstroke in 59.30, joined Ella Stufflebeem to finish the meet with a winning 400 free relay of 3:43.83.

Cape Henry Collegiate added the tournament title to its regular-season crown and earned many of the conference’s major awards.
Cape Henry’s Townsend Winans was named the TCIS Wrestler of the Year, and teammate Conner Walck was the tournament’s Most Valuable Wrestler. The Dolphins’ Josh Conklin was the Coach of the Year.
Catholic won the Betty Jean Riddick Sportsmanship Award.
