Palm Beach man charged in retail theft scheme at Targets from Miami to Orlando

A Palm Beach man is facing charges stemming from an organized retail theft scheme in which he garnered nearly $40,000 from selling merchandise stolen from Target, the Attorney General’s Office announced Thursday.

Keith Wallis, 39, was arrested on two counts of felony organized retail theft, three counts of felony dealing in stolen property and one count of felony money laundering after an investigation by the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office and the Office of Statewide Prosecution, with assistance from the Broward Sheriff’s Office and Martin County Sheriff’s Office, according to a news release.

Wallis allegedly committed 75 thefts at Target locations spanning from Orlando to Miami between July 2025 and February 2026 by picking up large boxes of trading cards and an equal number of taco seasoning packets worth 99 cents. At self-checkout kiosks, he paid only for the seasoning packets and would later sell the stolen cards on eBay, the Attorney General’s Office said.

Target lost more than $10,000 from the thefts. Investigators believe Wallis also committed thefts at Walmart and Publix locations, the news release said.

If he is found guilty of all charges, Wallis could face up to 90 years in state prison.
