• I am so ticked off at all the inconsiderate drivers in this city who do not use their turn signals. This has become a “me” world!
• Go figure: You can open your car door or start its engine with a remote from yards away, navigate your way around a foreign country with a GPS, or have the Waymo car drive itself safely in heavy urban traffic. Yet, a single stray nail on the interstate can cause a blown tire to send your car off the road to a paralyzing or deadly accident.
• We are seeing TV ads from various entities offering to buy your house for cash no matter the conditions of the house nor any other considerations. It is essential to know the ratings and financial status of these entities and how solid and reliable their offers are. Excuse my doubts, but it sounds too good to be true. Hopefully it is a valid operation for the benefit of everybody.
• I’m tired of reading criticism about “Asking Eric.” It’s the first column I read each day. Eric’s responses are well thought out, insightful and sensitive to all sides of the issue being presented. Great job, Eric!
The flip side
• Sending a big dose of gratitude to all of our school crossing guards! You are out there in all kinds of weather and most of you are friendly and waving at drivers. Thanks for brightening our mornings! You are appreciated.
