Central Florida could see temps drop into 50s overnight

Winds will begin to pick up across Central Florida on Monday as a cold front moves across the region that will bring overnight lows into the 50s for much of the area, according to the National Weather Service.

Northerly winds of 10-15 mph will increase today and turn northeasterly on Tuesday, producing poor to hazardous beach and boating conditions, the NWS stated.

A weak low pressure system is organizing just offshore of the Carolina coast, and the ahead of the cold front, temperatures during the day will range from the low 60s then climb to the upper 70s or low 80s farther south.

The front could approach Lake and Volusia counties by late tonight with the drier air moving over the entire area.

Below-normal temperatures are anticipated overnight with lows sinking into the 50s/60s areawide. A few spots in rural northern Lake and Volusia counties may briefly approach the upper 40s before daybreak Tuesday, the NWS stated.

The skies will remain mostly clear with dry conditions, and temperatures will get gradually warmer through the week with low rain chances returning ahead of the weekend.
