Four children and one adult died in a house fire Tuesday night in Carbon County.

Firefighters were called about 11:40 p.m. to Willow Street in Franklin Township for a report of a fire, according to a state police news release. When first responders arrived, the first floor and rear of the second floor were fully engulfed in flames, the release states.

All five victims were found dead in the home. The Carbon County Coroner’s office said a woman, a girl and three boys were killed. Autopsies are scheduled for Thursday.  The coroner’s office said their identities are being withheld to allow time for their family to mourn.

State police are investigating the fire.
