14-year-old boy critically wounded in shooting on Far South Side

A 14-year-old boy was found critically wounded Tuesday night inside of a residence in the Roseland neighborhood, Chicago police said.

Shortly after 10:30 p.m., officers responded to a call of a person shot in the 300 block of West 106th Street and found a boy inside a residence with a gunshot wound to the head.

The boy was taken to Comer Children’s Hospital where he was listed in critical condition, police said.

In a separate shooting Tuesday night, another 14-year-old boy was wounded in the Belmont Cragin neighborhood on the Northwest Side, police said.

Shortly after 7:30 p.m., the boy was outside in the 2900 block of North Parkside Avenue when he was shot by someone traveling in a white vehicle, police said. The boy, who suffered a wound to the buttocks, was taken to Community First Hospital where he was listed in fair condition, police said.

No one was in custody for either shooting and detectives were investigating.
