A 15-year-old boy was injured in a shooting Monday night in Margate, police say.
The shooting took place at 9:45 p.m. near the intersection of Rock Island Road and Forest Boulevard, according to Lt. Lori Hofer, a spokesperson for Margate Police. The boy was on foot at the time.
He was transported as a trauma alert to Broward General Hospital, where he was “alert,” Hofer said, before he was taken into surgery. He remained in the hospital Tuesday in stable condition.
Police do not currently have any description of a suspect, Hofer said, and there is no surveillance video.
The investigation remains active.
Anyone with information should contact Margate Police Detective Boyette at 954-935-5417.
