NORFOLK — A 24-year-old motorcyclist died Saturday after hitting the guardrail on I-64 in Norfolk.

Saturday afternoon, Virginia State Police responded to a single-vehicle motorcyle crash on I-64 westbound at Robin Hood Road exit. Upon arrival, the motorcycle driver, Elijah Daniel Young, was found unconscious and police began performing CPR. He was then transported to Norfolk General Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. He was riding a 2024 Kawaski motorcyle.

The crash remains under investigation at this time, but a preliminary investigation showed Young was quickly weaving in and out of traffic, and was ejected once he hit the guardrail at the Robin Hood Road exit.
