6 Central Florida restaurants shut down last week

Six Central Florida restaurants shut down the week of Sept. 7-13, according to data from the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation.

Orange

Pang’s BBQ at 5132 W. Colonial Dr. in Orlando shut down on Sept. 11. Inspectors found 19 violations, three of which were high priorities. Those violations included flying insects, rodent activity and food held at the wrong temperatures. A second inspection occurred on Sept. 12. There were still 19 violations and the restaurant remained closed. Two more inspections occurred on Sept. 15. On the first inspection, the restaurant remained closed. A final inspection found eight violations, only one of which was a high priority for food held at the proper temperature. It was corrected on site. The restaurant met inspection standards.

Chipotle Mexican Grill #570 at 2850 S. Kirkman Road in Orlando shut down on Sept. 10. Inspectors found 12 violations, five of which were high priorities. Those violations included flying insects, the presence of pests, roach and rodent activity. A second inspection occurred on Sept. 11. Inspectors found two violations, and received a time extension for not having a functional dish washing machine. The restaurant is waiting for a part to fix it. A follow-up inspection is required, but there is no immediate threat to the public.

Black & Gold Bar & Grill at 1724 N. Alafaya Trail in Orlando shut down on Sept. 11. Inspectors found eight violations, four of which were high priorities. Those violations included food with mold on it, flying insects and raw food not separated from ready-to-eat food. A second inspection occurred the same day. There were no violations as the restaurant complied with the emergency order.

Sabrososauce Corp. at 912 W. Church St. in Orlando shut down on Sept. 9. There were seven violations, two of which were high priorities for not having potable running water and operating with an expired business license. A second inspection occurred on Sept. 15. The same seven violations were present and the restaurant remained closed as of Wednesday morning, Sept. 17.

Volusia

IHOP 36-043 at 427 N. Atlantic Ave. in Daytona Beach shut down on Sept. 12. Inspectors found 14 violations, one of which was a high priority for rodent activity. A second inspection occurred the same day. There were eight violations and none was a high priority. The restaurant met inspection standards.

China Master at 1700 W. International Speedway Blvd., Suite 148 in Daytona Beach shut down on Sept. 11. Inspectors found 25 violations, seven of which were high priorities. Those violations included an employee working with food and utensils without washing their hands, a stop-sale on food for not being in wholesome condition and rodent nesting materials. A second inspection occurred on Sept. 12. Inspectors found 12 violations, but none was a high priority. The restaurant requires a follow-up inspection but poses no immediate threat to the public.

Complaints and warnings

Volusia County had the top spot for most warnings and other complaints in Central Florida, with 33.

Orange had 28, Lake had 14, Brevard had nine, Seminole had eight and Osceola had five.
