757Teamz field hockey Top 15: Great Bridge coach reaches 200 career wins

Great Bridge coach Katie Duke registered her 200th career win Thursday when her team beat Ocean Lakes 4-0.

Lexi Curtis had three goals and an assist, while Bella Steckline added three assists for the Wildcats, who also knocked off Western Branch the night before with a shutout performance by Brooke Fierst.

Granby’s Peyton Benz scored twice in the Comets’ 9-0 win over Norview, including her first varsity goal, and followed up with a three-goal performance in an 8-0 victory over Churchland.

And freshman Abby Cullen recorded a hat trick and two assists for Hickory in an 8-0 win over Lakeland.

Elizabeth Trant scored and then dished the assist on Sienna Williamson’s overtime winner as Poquoson upended First Colonial 2-1. Trant also had a hat trick in a 5-0 decision over Grassfield.

Caitlin Outlaw had both goals to lead Nansemond River to a 2-1 overtime victory over Kellam. It was the second win of the week for the Warriors, who also thumped Oscar Smith 9-0 behind a three-goal, three-assist night by Brayden Johnson.

Kaydence Holland scored a hat trick and two goals as Grassfield topped King’s Fork 7-0. EG Hatcher chipped in with three assists and a goal.
Senior captain Miley Slater led Kecoughtan to a 6-0 win over Phoebus with a hat trick.
Carissa Beales recorded a hat trick and an assist as York beat Lakeland 6-0.
Miley Slater and Vanna Stevenson knocked in four goals apiece to fuel a a Kecoughtan 10-0 win over Heritage.
Lia Mulkey finished with two goals and three assists to power Cape Henry Collegiate past Norfolk Collegiate 7-1.

First Colonial continues a tough opening schedule this week, first hosting Eastern District power Maury Tuesday at 4 p.m. On Friday, Assumption of Louisville, Kentucky, visits the Patriots at 5. Assumption has won 3 of the last 6 Kentucky High School Athletic Association titles.

Kellam travels to face Virginia private school stalwart Trinity Episcopal Saturday at 1:30 p.m.
