757Teamz girls volleyball Top 15: Cox stays at No. 1, Grafton remains unbeaten

Top-ranked Cox stayed atop the 757Teamz girls volleyball Top 15 after cruising to a 3-0 win over Princess Anne last week.

Caroline Butkovich totaled 25 assists for Cox, June Culicerto provided four aces, and Camdyn Milisitz finished with 12 kills.

Grafton (11-0), at No. 2, maintains the highest ranking among the three unbeaten teams in Hampton Roads. Last Tuesday, the Clippers handled Warhill 3-0 as Kenzie Smith logged 12 kills and four blocks. Coach David Keeter’s team followed on Thursday with another shutout win over York. Smith had 14 kills and three blocks for the Clippers.

No. 3 Kellam (11-3) swept Kempsville last week as Riley Erwin led the Knights with 13 kills and 13 assists and Emmie Irving added 20 assists, 26 serves and six aces. Erwin and Sophie Barnes, both seniors, have been stabilizing forces for the Knights this season. Erwin, primarily the team’s setter, ranks second on the team in assists (211), aces (27), and kills (93). Barnes, an opposite hitter, leads Kellam in kills with 134, and is second in digs with 119. Senior libero Alison leads the team in digs with 215, and Irving tops the squad in assists with 247.

Norfolk Academy (11-1) outlasted Catholic 3-2 (15-12 in the fifth) in a key Tidewater Conference battle. Audrey Lipps led the Bulldogs with 11 kills and 22 digs and Charleston Hart added 12 kills and 20 digs.

Rounding out the top five, StoneBridge (27-0) unleashed several more wins last week, including a sweep of Portsmouth Catholic. Zara Ofole and Emily Bertrand combined for 10 kills for the Cavaliers, while Whitney Howard totaled five aces.

Grassfield enters the rankings at No. 14 after defeating Western Branch (3-1) and Lakeland last week to vault to first place in the Southeastern District.
