NORFOLK — A woman died after being hit by a car Thursday morning.
Around 11 a.m., first responders were called to the 5900 block of E. Virginia Beach Blvd. for a report of a crash involving a pedestrian, according to a release. When officers arrived, they found 79-year-old Josephine A. McClese, of Norfolk, with life-threatening injuries, according to police. McClese was taken to the hospital, where she later died.
An investigation found McClese was crossing E. Virginia Beach Boulevard near Glenrock Road when she was hit by a car, according to police.
The driver of the car remained at the scene. Investigators say alcohol was not a factor in the crash.
No other information has been released.
