Trendy jewelry, comfy clothing and cozy cafe among new businesses at Westfarms

Shoppers have another option for fine jewelry as trendy brand gorjana recently opened its doors at Westfarms mall in Farmington, just one of the new businesses popping up at the popular shopping center.

The jewelry store, which opened on Aug. 15, is the company’s third location in Connecticut. The other stores are located in Greenwich and Westport. According to the gorjana website, the store has attracted A-list celebrities like Lily Aldridge, Dove Cameron, Florence Pugh, Bella Hadid, Alessandra Ambrosio, Vanessa Hudgens and more.

The company, founded in California by husband-and-wife duo, Gorjana and Jason Reidel, has been well received in its new Connecticut location, according to a gorjana spokesperson.

“Guests were excited to explore the space and take part in one-on-one styling sessions. We loved seeing people discover new pieces, whether they were starting their first stack or expanding one they’ve been building over time,” the spokesperson said, adding that Westfarms was a natural fit.

“Farmington is a vibrant, growing community with amazing energy and a strong sense of style — it felt like a natural fit for gorjana. We’ve already seen great momentum in Connecticut with our Greenwich and Westport stores, so expanding to Westfarms allows us to continue connecting with more customers in a meaningful way,” the spokesperson said.

The company spokesperson said gorjana is known for “versatile, layer-friendly jewelry that blends timeless style with a personal twist. Our collection includes solid gold staples, signature 18k gold-plated pieces as well as seasonal styles — there’s truly something for everyone.”

“Guests also love the in-store experience — our stylists are always available to help curate the perfect look with one-on-one styling, whether that be dainty layers or bold statement pieces. We designed our stores to feel like a coastal bungalow – it’s the perfect escape for our customers to explore, connect and keep building their personal jewelry collection,” the spokesperson added.

The spokesperson added that the company is interested in becoming part of the community.

“ Beyond jewelry, community is at the heart of gorjana,” the spokesperson said. “We’ve donated more than $2 million nationwide and are passionate about supporting local schools, nonprofits and fundraisers. We’re excited to grow roots in Farmington and continue building those connections.”

Other new businesses at Westfarms mall include Jamba, which opened on Aug. 22.

“The popular whirl’d famous flavors of plant-based smoothies, bowls with fresh fruit toppings and protein-packed foods to go, is open on the lower-level entrance corridor near Arhaus and Texas de Brazil, according to Westfarms spokesperson Amanda Sirica.

The Atlanta-based company has over 750 locations nationwide, Sirica said.

Sirica noted that retailer Just Cozy also recently opened on the lower level of Center Court. The store is next to Claire’s and sells leggings and “cozy” accessories, including scarves, hats, mitten and blankets, Sirica said.

Later this fall, the Pink Petal Café, will be moving into the mall.

The business is described as a vibrant and exciting spot that offers “out of this world” food, drinks, and sweets, according to Sirica. “We look forward to adding this bakery and café to our unique eatery offerings at Westfarms.”

Pink Petal Café will serve breakfast, lunch and desserts in the space that was previously occupied by Green Teahouse, which closed on Aug. 24.

“Pink Petal aims to provide a fun and delicious experience for shoppers,” said owner and pastry chef Tiffany Acosta. “The menu is a mix of breakfast, lunch and sweet treats. For breakfast, you can find pancakes, French toast, oatmeal and breakfast paninis. Lunch options include paninis, wraps, salads and soups. The sweet treats section features cheesecakes, cupcakes, cookies, donuts, ice cream and more. Pink Petal plans to have a competitive edge with its diverse, high-quality, and fun menu, along with a trendy and inviting atmosphere.”

Westfarms mall opened in 1974 and features more than 140 stores and restaurants. The anchor stores include JCPenney, Macy’s, Macy’s Men’s & Furniture Gallery, Nordstrom and Jordan’s Furniture.
