CT man airlifted to Rhode Island Hospital after motorcycle crash in Putnam

A man was seriously injured when the motorcycle he was riding struck a guardrail in Putnam on Tuesday, throwing him from the bike.

The collision occurred on Route 12 in the area of Ware Road shortly before 5:30 p.m., according to Connecticut State Police.

A 30-year-old Putnam man riding a 2005 Yamaha XVS 1100 A lost control of the bike and hit a guardrail, state police said. He became separated from the bike and was seriously injured.

According to state police, the man was airlifted via Life Star to Rhode Island Hospital. His condition was not immediately clear.
