Inside Business 2025 Top Forty Under 40: Kimberly Jackson, United Community Solutions

Age: 39

Job title: Founder and CEO, United Community Solutions

At work: I lead a behavioral health agency serving the Tidewater region. My focus is building best practices, driving growth and strengthening community partnerships so that access to care truly leads to outcomes.

Home and family: I grew up in Lynchburg and moved to Hampton Roads to attend Hampton University, where I earned my undergraduate degree. I later received my master’s from Liberty University. I consider both Lynchburg and Hampton Roads home. I love Chesapeake, where I now live with my two children, my 14-year-old daughter and 9-year-old son.

Volunteer activities: I am secretary of the board for Montero Medical Missions. I was appointed by Gov. Glenn Youngkin to the Virginia Board of Social Work and appointed by state House Speaker Don Scott to Virginia’s Minority Business Commission. I sponsored the creation and construction of the Asuaba Project in Ghana, which brought clean water to a community and will bring more in the future. I also lead the Hope Renewed Project, a holistic initiative that provides veterans and vulnerable individuals with clothing, food, resource navigation and a renewed sense of dignity. As a breast cancer survivor, I also volunteer as an advocate, raising awareness and supporting others through their journeys.

Motivating factor: Making sure every person I encounter leaves with something that helps them elevate their life. That’s the legacy I want to leave.

Advice to young people: Hold on to your creativity. Don’t lose the fearless imagination that made you feel free as a child — carry it into adulthood and into your work.

Professional goal in five years: I want to open an all-access behavioral health urgent care clinic, where people can walk out with the tools they need to thrive, not just survive.

The one thing I’d change about Hampton Roads: I would love to see a major sports team or arena here.

Region’s biggest asset: The people. This community’s willingness to connect and open doors for one another is our greatest strength.

Downtime: I love playing tennis, staying active, exploring fashion and art, traveling with my kids and spending time with family and friends.

What really gets under my skin: When I hear “it’s impossible” (and then prove that it can be done). And when people overlook opportunities to give when others are in need.
