A man faces charges after police allege that he pointed a gun at his neighbor during a snow removal dispute in Derby earlier this week.
Police were dispatched to the area of Olivia Street on Monday on the report of a fight involving a firearm and two neighbors, according to the Derby Police Department.
Witnesses told officers that 46-year-old Nekee Dickson pointed a gun at his neighbor during an argument over snow removal, police said. Investigators were able to corroborate the account given by witnesses through video, according to police.
Police said they found that Dickson had a valid pistol permit but was allegedly found to be the “aggressor” in the incident. He was taken into custody and charged with first-degree reckless endangerment and breach of peace.
Officers seized the firearm that was involved.
“The Derby Police Department reminds all residents to remain patient and respectful with one another, particularly as we collectively navigate snow removal challenges and limited on-street parking during winter weather,” police wrote in a statement.
