Allentown man dies in early morning traffic accident

A 25-year-old Allentown man was killed in a motor vehicle accident early Saturday morning in the city’s East Side.

Police and rescue were called to the incident at Union Boulevard and Quebec Street shortly after 5 a.m. Lehigh County Coroner Daniel A. Buglio said the cause of death is multiple blunt force injuries after the car struck a utility pole.

He was pronounced dead around 6 a.m.

Buglio said the identity of the man will not be released at this time in order to give the family time to grieve.

Police are conducting an investigation.
