Allentown student charged in bomb threat to school, police say

A student phoned in a bomb threat to an Allentown middle school Thursday, police said.

Allentown police responded around 11:45 a.m. to the threat at Trexler Middle School.

Police, the Allentown Fire Department and school staff and security swept the building using a police canine team trained in explosives and found the threat to be unfounded.

A male student was identified as the suspect in the bomb threat, and was taken into custody. He will be charged as a juvenile with terroristic threats and disorderly conduct, police said.
